I'm heading from Sydney to New York next year for a songwriting workshop with Andrea Stolpe. I've wanted to work with Andrea for years, but I thought I was going to have to go with a ukulele! Instead I get to take this lovely little instrument. I'm really enjoying playing it - wasn't sure I was going to.
I took it to work today to show a friend and she bought one straight away. Lovely instrument. I'm stoked.

This is an awesome guitar.

A lovely birthday gift - thank you

Looks great, a unique good point of difference.
A good replacement for my Steinberg that I can't buy strings for anymore.
The sound is crisp and is easy to play.

perfect service guitar is brilliant and now i can practice when i travel for work

Easy set up. Sounds great.

Great small and light weight acoustic style guitar, good tuning stability, very little to adjust when you get it aside from personal choices like perhaps a lowered action or lighter strings. I've compared it to my Takamine and the action is about the same. String spacing is tighter, but workable. Surprisingly good tone, especially if played through a small practice/busking amp but it is also fine played directly through head phones. Very clean sound so it will definitely help you polish your technique and teach you how to get your own sound without any sound processing or other gadgetry getting in the way. Tuning with an allen key takes a bit to get used to, but once mastered no worries and as previously said tuning stability is great. It's a good bit of kit to have when you travel to ensure you can maintain your skills and sanity. Totally recommended.

Originally bought to take with me in the car when travelling with my horses, as I have limited space in my car due to all my gear. Also because the case measures just small enough for carry on domestic travel in Australia, something I haven't seen in other travel guitars. But I've found I'm using it all the time over my other guitars, because it's just so easy to pull out and play! I rarely use the metal brackets, the strap (also doubling as a carry handle) seems more useful for keeping it in a good position if needed. It came straight out of the box not needing any adjustment to the neck or on the action. After a few uses, the strings hold their tune as they should, and it sounds fine with a capo. I use it through my tiny Nux modelling amp and get a good enough acoustic sound, it even doesn't sound terrible for more distorted sounds. The carry case is well designed and well made, I'd feel quite confident putting it in the overhead lockers on an aeroplane (carefully placed). Very worthwhile purchase.

Nice product. Getting used to small size, but it is very convenient.
Mark M.
Easy to play and really portable
Wilfredo P.
I ordered this by mistake instead of the electric guitar, but I couldn't return it; it was love at first sight.
It's quiet for practice, and the sound is nice and clean. The size is perfect for travel, too bad it doesn't work with my wireless amp; it shorts the transmitter, otherwise is perfect
Peter S.
I'm using it busking. So much easier carrying around. Only issue is the 6.35mm plug is a bit sensitive. It loses connection at times and I have to unplug and replug until it works. I now wrap the lead around my strap and that seems to help. (I am using the strap off my old mandolin as I figured the strap supplied is better suited to the carry case). I am having no trouble assembling the guitar and packing it way. I find tuning is easy and the guitar is keeping its tune well. And it's a talking point for people walking past who ask about my new toy!
Janet B.
My husband loves it, says so easy to play. And a great price, quick service and delivery.
Fred L.
Works well but interrupts my sleep . I get up at night and go play without disturbing my wife and find I’m up for hours!
We worth the money and will also be great to take in the caravan.
Mick R.
Great little travel unit. Used it at a gig yesterday and it sounded just as good as my Fender. Will be taking it on a fishing trip in September with a mini amp. It is absolutely brilliant. Great build quality too.
Ye C.
The silent guitar is very well made. The headphone jack is ever so handy when you just wanna practice without disturbing other people. When coupled with a guitar amp simulator on the PC, it could sound as good as any higher end guitar.
Simon R.
Very happy with it, accessories are good. Adjusting to the smaller size but sounds good and easy to set up
Garry E.
Delivery was within 2 days. Great Travel Guitar for the price. Easy to assemble and stays in tune up and down neck. Definitely worth it. Just went on an overseas holiday and used it as a carry on and it fitted nicely in cavity above airplane seats.
PHILIP ANTHONY S.
The guitar design is good.....ideal as a travelling instrument but wouldn't use it at home
The service from this company is disgusting. Email is the only method of communication and they take many days to respond. Sent me a second hand guitar with faults 2 weeks ago and still waiting to hear how I can return it.
Lee M.
Very good value
Includes ear phones pick battery
Taylor W.
Decided to pick up this guitar so then I could just pick up and play it whenever, without taking up too much space in more small room. It has by far, exceeded my expectations of it. The value in this package is insane. Would highly recommend for beginners wanting to learn guitar, as it'll include everything you'll need to get started!
CHARLEMAGNE M.
Good crisp sound.
Perfect for gigs.
Comfortable fretboard.
John B.
Great sound through headphones. Nice tone.
Line in to play along with works really well too.
And silent and private. I love it.

Great instrument
Anthony W.
Value for money this is a great travelling guitar, that actually sounds ok, and the action is not bad either. I do fly in /fly out work in remote locations and don't want to take my Martin into these harsh environments, and this little gem does just nicely.

I have now purchased two hush guitars as I was so impressed by the simplicity of the design and the sensational sound. The First guitar was for me and the second purchased later for my 14 year old granddaughter who has been learning to play.
First words out of her mouth was “it is so easy to play” and has given her the ability to practice her chords while we sit near by and cannot hear anything as she has the ear phones plugged in.
With the Donner Hush you have choices, you can sit down watching tv while silently playing chord structures or playing lead or you can insert the head phones and hear your sounds just like an amp or plug a lead into your sound system and blow the dust off your book case.
Why does it suit me?
I have a Fender Strat and a Les Paul custom which I use for band work and a Tanglewood acoustic for lounging at home or around the campfire but with the Donner Hush I can put it in my suit case and take it away with me when I travel so 10/10 from me
Tony E.
Great for practice and so light.
Band has recently gone primarily electric and this also solved a problem with foldback mixing in the neatest way possible. The guitar was the only acoustic instrument left on stage, now it still is, but is also much more mixable in our small space.
Andrew N.
great guitar for travel, however some further development work is needed to make it fit into a standard airline checked luggage as it is currently too long. The action should be made adjustable by using a zero fret and an adjustable acoustic bridge. The preamp needs to have tuning, reverb and chorus functions added. The manual doesnt mention that the preamp power turns off when the headphone jack is removed. I would like a nylon strung version with a nut width of 48mm to be available, to rival the Yamaha silent guitars.
Colin S.
Quick delivery
Great travel guitar
Sounds good looks good happy with purchase

Funthing that does what it mostly say’s on the tin… my kids would argue it’s definitely not silent, but running through my noise cancelling headphones i can’t tell what they’re talking about!! I’ve already lost the allenkey, but that doesn’t mean you will!
Small size means the missus doesn’t mind it hanging in the loungeroom so much more likely to do a 5-15minplay everyday. Planning on testing it travelcamping later this year!

Excellent service
Great Guitar
Ross O.
Great item… nicely finished. Strong broke on first tune but replacement strings are fine. The ability to practice with little or no sound is appreciated by my household! The tone and action of the guitar is good and approximates a standard guitar. The sound through an amplifier is satisfying and gives a good
Electric guitar experience.
Sherwin C.
Really good value for what you get.
body of guitar is well made, no issues with OOTB string action (yet).
Comes with free earphones for practice, super portable with the bag- it's less clunky than a violin case.
Love the way it can be used for practice.
David O.
It is a clever design and good for travel. The thing that disappoints me is the fiddly screws to hold the rests to the guitar body. Typically I put the rests on, play the guitar then take the rests off. It would be much better if rests could simply snap into place and be released.
Juan camilo G.
Donner Silent guitar it's AND incredible product, Ist a very good tool for all the musicians , it's a difference experience, thank so much donner for your Hard work, high quality products and your responsability.
Christian D.
It really is a great guitar I’m enjoying using it and it definitely is very subtle to use
Jungwon
It’s my 10-year-old son’s first guitar and we just love it! The sound, the design, and even the fact that it’s silent, and so on.. We are glad to find it!
Colin Knight
Amazing travel guitar. Just need truss rod tightening to bring the action into desired hight down the neck. They have to listen truss rod in travel I suppose. The nut is a great hight for me. The sound is great and plays well through positive grid bias FX for some different sounds on the go.
Scott A.
Bought it for my son- he loves it!

Traveling across the country, I needed a reliable guitar to be able to come with. Donner Hush I was the perfect guitar!
Tony R.
My guitar arrived without any damage, although a few days later than the courier had promised.
This was not an issue.
The guitar plays well and sounds great through my Vox amp.
The strings and the string gauge is far to heavy for me, so I have given the instrument to a luthier to adjust the action and replace the strings with 9-42's light gauge, hopefully this will make it more playable for me.
Apart from that I am happy with my purchase.
Heather Allgood
"Update: my first attempt at tuning the guitar, the string snapped instantly. It appears these are not normal strings and I haven't found any to be able to replace them yet.
Being that I haven't picked up a guitar since I was a teenager, this seemed like the perfect thing to let me explore my old hobby without driving my household crazy. This guitar is beautiful. The craftsmanship appears to be very high quality. I love the metal attachments to make it look more like a regular guitar. Either way you choose still looks completely unique and awesome. I have a lot of practice and relearning to do before I am able to really play, but I'm thrilled with this product!

I was so looking forward to getting this guitar. I have a bad back so I love playing a light guitar. This one was perfect except for one thing. The sound was great, the feel was great, It was very light and easy to travel with.

great product great tones i'm very impress

It was easy and simple to buy from Donner. The guitar felt so premium and well made and the extra goodies that come with it made it even more special!
david B.
Between myself a a few friends, we have bought three of them in two weeks. Love it, nice and light. easy to play, sounds great, especially through my Spark 40 amp. If i had a problem with it it would be the action being a bit too high.
Ian S.
Although I have had the Hush i guitar for a few weeks I have only played it for one day as I had to go away and couldn’t take it with me. Will be back to it in a week. It is very good and the sound and quality is excellent. The only complaint was one of the handles on the case was not sewn properly and the end broke free. This issue is being resolved at the moment.
Doug S.
Just what I was after. Perfect as carry on and to travel with.
Worth noting is plays like an acoustic without the sound.
Headphones are great.
All in all a fantastic little package for a great price.
David S.
Overall extremely happy with the Hush-I. I however, like a lot of others, I feel the action is too high and the truss rod needed a small adjustment.
I also suggest that the carry strap/guitar strap be replaced by a permanent carry strap (sewn) as the attach clips are too clunky and the guitar ends don’t fit well.
Plays great and a is quite comfortable.
Marquiz-Julius U.
My son is enjoying learning guitar with it using the Donner Music App.
Peter C.
The reviews on youtube were good and I was not disappointed.
I had a Washburn travel guitar before this and the guitar was good but needed a pickup, and the case was shoddily made. The Hush guitar is a great size, has a pickup and the case is practical and well made (not sure about the handles).
The Donner people have though of everything with audio source input, headphone output and a conventional guitar jack. The bottom tuners work well and the guitar stays in tune well. I was concerned that the action was a bit high when I received it and then found out it has a truss rod under the Donner cover at the base of the fret board. Innovation at its best.
Anthony N.
After much consideration and reading reviews before I decided to purchase the Donner Hush I Silent Guitar. Here are the many reasons why I recommend this product. It is:
Light to carry
Silent for practice
Affordable
Stylish and
Good Quality
For the price and high quality that it comes with, one can’t go wrong.
Enjoy!
Donjon A.
Customer service was very quick to resolve the issue I had with the guitar.
WALEKWA W.
The urlyn key for turning the guitar keeps falling out, the metal arm rest does not fit as it should in the hole, the screw hole on the big arm rest does not aline with the hole on the guitar, if the screw is put in ,the arm lifts out on the other hole with no screw,
Damian P.
Great product. Awesome communication and delivery speed.
Ian W.
The guitar perfectly suits my needs, which is for a quality travel instrument that easily fits into our campervan slide-out drawer.
My only criticisms are: 1. It needs an in-built tuner because there's no spot to properly place a clip-on tuner onto; and 2. I have some reservations about how long the single legged bottom frame will last before it becomes loose by eroding the wood of its single hole through leverage and twisting pressure - I would much prefer that the bottom frame was two-legged like the top frame (and I see no reason why it couldn't be).
Dale F.
Very compact and playable travel guitar. Very good tone when connecting pedals and digital amps
Leon C.
Love it. Getting used to the different configuration but love the sound and the convenience of plugging in with the headphones and letting rip. Great product.
Matthew R.
My black hush-i arrived safely and in very good time. It is beautiful. The action was very high and quite a bend up on the neck. Nothing that the truss rod adjustment and lowering the saddle to correct the action didn’t fix. It plays awesome. It is especially suited being used with my Spark amp for different tones. I have the new Spark Go also coming to improve my experience on the go even more. Great guitar at a great otice. Very happy
Michael B.
My main concern was that the guitar wasn't set up very well the action was high and the truss rod wasn't adjusted so I had to spend another 99 dollars at my local music store getting an adjustment. It was much better after that but I was disappointed that it couldn't have been set up right out of the box. Otherwise it was ok, although the action was not as good as my two acoustics . Does the job though.
Carl H.
First appearances were amazing, exactly how I expected it after reading the reviews.
Really nice quality and feel, very easy to assemble and tune up however after playing it for about 5 minutes I realised the string action was excessive.
Somewhere around 5-6mm at the 12th fret which makes it largely unplayable after around the 5th or 6th fret.
Having a look as some of the other reviews online, I noted that one or two others had experience this and a quick truss rod adjustment was needed, so after taking a measurement (6.5mm), detuning and a quick 1/8 turn of the truss rod, then retuning.
I expected to see around 4.5 mm.
But the guitar still measured 6.5mm.
So, 1/4 turn by 1/4 turn I kept measuring.
Very little change until the truss rod started to get pretty tight.
At this point I thought I should stop but the action was still 4mm.
It seems the truss rod has very little effect on the string action.
Whether this is a problem with the truss rod, the neck, the nut or the saddle, I'm not sure but I was able to push it further into that uncomfortable zone of tight, and was subsequently able to lower the action to a comfortable playing height.
If this was a very expensive guitar, I probably wouldn't have had the guts to turn the truss rod this far, it is excessively tight.
And the action is good at the first 5 frets but still pretty high after the 12th.
Obviously 5/12 are average.
My question here is, do I have an oddball guitar with a badly made or badly seated neck?
Or is the saddle too high?
I doubt that removing any saddle material would affect the first 5 frets very much.
So I will leave this in the hands of donner and would like to hear any advice on moving forward with this issue.
I have over 20 guitars, some of them are budget range and some expensive.
I am confident on setting all of them up to a high standard.
Any help would be appreciated.
Peter W.
I was quite impressed with this guitar. I had watched a few videos on Youtube about this and one was negative. I found the setup and playability to be excellent and the sound is very impressive, especially when I plug into my acoustic amp. The only problem with it is the strap. The leather is too stiff to get over the strap buttons. It's not a big issue since I have several straps.
I took the guitar on a trip to Perth and spent quite a lot of time with it.
Excellent product.
Darryl S.
Plays well and does what is asked of it.
Body not quite as well constructed as expected. The screws for the external arms are extremely fiddly. The tuning heads are difficult to use. Bluetooth would be a great addition to future models.
Generally a good toy to stop annoying my wife.
Mark M.
Love the design and the ease setting it up. Unfortunately, the headphone output develops a buzz and then tone with rising pitch and volume which is a pretty big detractor (my guess is that it's defective from the factory as I haven't read any similar reviews).
Still waiting for my Donner mini amplifier to try the 6.35mm output from the guitar but I suspect it will be the same.
Warm Regards,
Mark
Stephen P.
Love the guitar. However, the top metal frame was missing when delivered.

For the price, its quite impressive and definitely value for money. Better than some of my more expensive guitars. The built is quite unique but solid with a hole for allenkey for tuning your sound.....I received mine with crooked or bended strings, so I contact the customer support. They decide to refund me with $30, for me I still prefer them to give me the strings as I like to keep my guitars with their supplier original strings.. Just my habit or preference anyway...Overall all good, at least they responded. Its important to have good responsive customer services. Furthermore, it comes with free lesson apps which I havent tried yet....

Feels good, stays in tune, good size and travels well
Fran L.
Unreal very happy with this purchase
Very handy for travelling
And amazing sound when linked through an amp so you can play with some pedals
I changed the strings to elixir 10/47 Nanoweb
The difference in the sound and the ability to do slides up and down the fingerboard makes a huge difference
Once again thanks to Donner for this amazing product
Sujoy D.
Great little guitar! Only that you can’t see the sound control (volume, low, high) knobs’ setting mark easily, when not in a brightly lit room (especially not likely if performing). It would be great if there was a red, reflective or fluro dot on the knobs’ setting marks so the desired setting can be seen more easily and adjusted quickly in any light. Especially helps if you wear any sort of glasses. Cheers

I appreciate the dedication to detail with the tuner, earphones, accessories pockets in the case, etc. It’s a total game changer to be able to practice guitar every night without my family complaining! Wish I’d had this years ago!
Nancy H.
Bought the Donner Hush-1 travel guitar. It's beautiful and stylish. The set-up was great right out of the box. Didn't have to do any tweaks other than tune it. Love the asymmetrical neck. I never knew I needed one till now! The earphones and tuner were a very nice touch along with the case and duel use strap. It really is a complete package. If you get yelled at for practicing a lot at home, buy one! The earphones are really good! They pick up nuances better than most of the other small headphones I own. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend the Donner Hush-1 travel guitar. Small enough to take everywhere, silent enough to play in a room full of TV zombies.

I filed down my saddle a bit and this plays wonderful.

I bought this guitar with the intention of sparing my wife from having to endure my not-yet-perfected guitar skills. As a beginner of over 10 years, I already own two other acoustic guitars, but Donner is my first solid body guitar. My initial impression of the entire kit was that it's an excellent choice for beginners, as it comes with everything from a tuner to picks. The gig bag is well-made, featuring plenty of cushions and adequately sized compartments to keep all your gear organized in one place. One standout feature is that the kit includes batteries for both the guitar itself and the tuner, saving you the hassle of buying them separately.
The guitar itself is crafted with high-quality materials and feels very well-made. The tuning pegs turn smoothly and responsively, making tuning a breeze. Within minutes of opening the box, I was able to start playing. I've even included a video with this review to give you an idea of its sound from the audience's perspective. It's not too quiet, but with a closed door in a room, others shouldn't hear it too loudly. However, I must admit that the promotional video is a bit misleading—it might wake a sleeping baby if you start strumming nearby.
Now, let me share my thoughts on how it feels to actually play the guitar. Keep in mind that I'm just a beginner, so take my opinions with a generous grain of salt. I found the included guitar-shaped metal piece to be somewhat impractical. Attaching and screwing it into place takes a few minutes, and without the screws, the bottom piece can rotate and occasionally come off. Since I take this guitar with me to work daily for 15-20 minute sessions, the attachment process eats into my playing time, especially when I want to play fingerstyle while sitting down.
The guitar strap is included, but the attachment holes are standard size, and one of the attachment points on the guitar doubles as an output jack, making it larger in diameter than normal. This made attaching the strap a bit challenging, and I ended up leaving it attached all the time, even when storing it in the carrying bag. Unfortunately, this caused the bag to not close properly if I wasn't careful, and the metal buckle on the strap ended up scratching the guitar while in transit.
The weight distribution of the guitar is also a bit unusual for me. The two connection points of the strap are very close together, making the neck feel much heavier than the body. As a result, I find myself holding up the neck even during brief pauses, which can be tiring.
Lastly, the guitar's shape doesn't offer many options for placing your palm while picking or doing light strumming. While it's not overly difficult to get used to, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Despite these cons, the few pros of this guitar outweigh them all. It's compact, lightweight, and incredibly easy to transport. It appears to be durable, and I can practice almost anywhere, anytime. Plus, the price is reasonable, making it a great option for beginners.
If you're considering this guitar, I suggest considering whether your situation is similar to mine and if the issues I've mentioned are things you can tolerate or adapt to. However, I can honestly say that I have no regrets about buying this guitar, and I hope my review has been helpful to you. Cheers, everyone!

I actually own one and have had it for quite a while now. I love the thing! My wife and I own our own trucking company and are team truck drivers. I can be in our truck waiting at a shipper/receiver, plug my earbuds and my iPad into it, play a backing track or lessons, and jam to my hearts content without bothering my wife while she is off shift and sleeping right on the other side of a curtain. (Hence one plausible reason a person might want a “silent guitar”.) It’s nice and compact so I occasionally even play it going down the road while she is driving. Came with a very nicely padded soft case that keeps it safe when stowed away for traveling. When home I typically play one of my numerous other guitars but this is absolutely PEFECT for my intended use. I only have two wish list items for improvement. One, it would be nice if the body pieces were a quick release for easy on/off, as it is I never use them. Two, it would be really cool if it were Bluetooth capable (output and input each independent) as the cords are constantly a pain due to having to use wired earbuds and hardwire to an iPad.

I knew when I purchased the Hush-I that I would need to adjust the action. In fact, most new guitars need at least a little bit of a setup. The wound strings are also a bit squeaky, but so are many wound acoustic strings, especially when they are new. Once I adjusted the action at the saddle and the strings were broken in a little, the Hush-I plays very nicely! I usually play with a strap, so I only rarely attach the upper and lower body pieces. While it won't take the place of my regular acoustic, this seems ideal for travel, and I have some of that coming up.
Stephen A.
Get one, you every guitarist needs this in their collection
Mike C.
Totally surprised at how good this is, really well thought design. More acoustic style than electric in neck shape and pickup type, but loads of fun.
Couple of things I did, was to lower the action about a 1mm and round off fret board edge a bit.
Only negative was the right hand stand receiver thread was burred making it difficult to attach.
Gary C.
I liked it so much I bought 1 for my son, he loves it too.
Rob L.
Arrived latter than stated by supplier due delays from courier. Was charged for shipping when web page stated free shipping, over happy with product better than last silent/ travel guitar. Can not take anything away from a excellent product.
Gary C.
Great guitar for the price and for practice, don't have to disturb others. Action was a bit high for me, but I fixed that with a few adjustments. Stays in tune quite well.
Quality is good for the price. No complaints here, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to practice quietly.
Christopher N.
A great product! Allows me to practice without annoying the family.

I like everything about this guitar .. packing, delivery, quality of build, playability. Good luck with your future projects!
