Only using it as a noise gate at the moment. Works perfectly and very simple to use

Great for isolating noisy multi effects that don't get on with the other pedals.

Its great, buy one.

Really great pedal for the price. It takes a bit of experimenting with to get it just right, but it is worth the time. I switched amps and had to recalibrate bit, but it was a mild tweak. And I was back to not hearing noise. This is a great addition to my pedal board.

Great pedal to help tame my array of distortion & fuzz! Also, use the FX loop of noisy Crate amp into send/receive. helpful controls to dial in just the right amount of noise control and release to let sound ring out.

I gate I can get so detailed and the exact amount Of responsiveness I need

This works so well with my hi gain guitar solos. I don’t have to worry about feedback at all. That’s just one of the benefits as I am still experimenting with the loop feature and how I want to configure it.
This is one of the best boxes I’ve used in a long time..

This pedal is super sensitive, but when you do get it dialed in....great piece of equipment.

Highly satisfied with this product and the price!

Great pedal. Gates very dynamically and flexibly. Punches well above its weight for the price.

This pedal is soooo easy on the eyes, and the ears. Once you get this beauty dialed in, your hum and 'sisisi' sounds are a thing of the past. The effect loop is a nice feature, but i haven't played around with it yet. I may be getting another for my drum machine.

I was able to adjust this so it picks up even when I play gentle and cuts out all the noise/humming from my cords or whatever is causing that unclean sound. it's definitely necessary for me because I play a lot of singer songwriter pretty tunes.
Evlmechanic
The gating is sensitive And works flawlessly. I like that you can use it to gate 2 separate loops like your effects loop of your amp, and the distortion section as well! Highly recommended!!

Admittedly, I don’t have much experience with noise gates so there was a slight learning curve here.
I like that it has a true bypass when I’m not using distortion and fuzz pedals.
I think the value is pretty incredible. After going back through the manual today I really got it dialed in and I’m liking it the more I use it.
Initially I wasn’t in love with it, but to be honest, I think that’s because it’s more advanced in its capacity.
Once I learned how to properly set up the release, threshold, attack and return to my liking I began to really see how it can shine.
The pedal looks really as well... it’s pretty cool looking.
I usually don’t buy budget items, but after being INCREDIBLY impressed with some Donner cables I decided to try their pedals as well...
The packaging is stellar and they really make absolutely solid and NICE products.

Beautiful pedal with a pink/white led theme. Seems very solid and really cleans up a lot of slop when you’re not actually playing. From distortion hum to clicking strings on frets while adjusting your guitar. I didn’t realize just how noisy things can be on their own.
I also don’t use a volume pedal at home and with practice amp at full volume I can set my guitar down and walk away without any fear of feedback drama. Very happy with this purchase!

this pedal is an amazing value, it does what it's supposed to, and does it for a very affordable price. I definitely recommend it!

This is a very versatile noise gate with many useful features. The behaviour of the noise suppressor is modified through the 4 knobs and toggle switch making this pedal more useful and musical than most. In addition it has a built in effects loop. You can put extra noisy effects like fuzz pedals, etc. in the loop and use the foot switch to toggle it on and off. I am very happy with this pedal.

Donner I've bought your products before and they really don't disappoint, for any starter, pro or boutique player, these pedals hit the spot.

The Sophgate pedal provides controls and features In a sound gate pedal that I didn’t expect to find at this price. My initial impression is of a well constructed pedal with solid metal casing on par with pedals double or triple the price.
The threshold knob controls the level at which the gate opens. The Sophgate also has attack, release, and return knobs (and a hold switch) which provide additional controls for how much, how long and how sudden the gate reacts. This offers a lot of customization and should be enough to adapt the pedal to clean up raw noise without constricting the intended sound effects in almost any situation.
Having send and return ports to create an effects loop through the pedal is perfect. This is a good way to fully isolate and control noisy pedals and reduce unwanted buzzing or humming.
I placed my preamp pedal into the Sophgate effects loop and set the threshold appropriately. With a guitar connected to the Sophgate input and the signal output going into other delay and echo pedals then to the amp, the sound is now clean and crisp - removed all ambient buzzing - but still retains the full range of the preamp pedal’s effects.
With so many controls on the unit it took a bit of fiddling to get the level exactly the way I wanted, but it was worth taking the time to set this up well so now I get the most out of all my pedals and have eliminated the ambient buzz from my setup.
This is a great addition to an effects pedal chain. A worthwhile investment that improves the audio output quality considerably.

Picked up this Soph Gate noise gate to deal with some of the buzz/hum I get when playing in my computer room due to interference with fans and a fridge in this room. It performs exactly like you'd expect a noise gate to work, filtering out the noise based on the threshold you set with the dials.

It is not the cheapest on the market but one of the best as price-quality!
It allows you to adjust the threshold up to monstrous levels, particularly suitable for hi-gain settings that often have high power but a bit of buzz!
It also has a function to mute both pickups and effect loop all in an isolated dual circuit, which is great because you don't need to become dumb to find the best position for the Pedal!
Also on the gate you can act at every stage of opening and closing! Really a well made pedal, quick, effective and quiet (sometimes gates make noise, this is really quiet!)
Well done! Very satisfying purchase!

It has been working great, with a noticeable difference compared to cheaper competitors. I look forward to putting it through the paces but it looks like it will easily handle practise and gigging alike. Highly recommend.

This is my fourth donner pedal!? Barely using delay and multieffect but, Eq is always on, and now this noise gate along with my demon screamer are permanently ON!
It is most expensive pedal I've got, works fantastic, build quality autstanding ! Premium feel, but most important is how it's doing job.
I am very happy
(I had before Rowin NG and Behringer NG - non of these were as good as this one)

Overall its a keeper for now.

I was in the market for a standalone noise gate because I have an SSS guitar setup and the hum sometimes gets to me when I'm practicing and pausing between playing. At the same time, it's kind of expensive to just get a noise gate to stop an annoyance so I was pleased when looking through the options to see one that had a bit more than just a threshold dial as I could get some more versatile use out of it.
I've been pretty pleased with this (obviously, you do sacrifice size, but I don't have many pedals overall and generally play at home, so hasn't been an issue to me). The look is nice overall (weird typo on "Input" notwithstanding) and it's a solid, metal pedal. Knobs feel good, has an indicator light for power, input/output as well as separately send and return for looping.
In addition to the standard function, you get more control over the sound, which the instruction manual gives some helpful guidance on if you're wondering how they work. But basically it modifies different aspects of how the noise gate works (such as how abruptly it cuts off at the threshold, how often it can proc in a short span, etc.) so that you can modify it for your particular situation. Especially if you're using this in a scenario with less overall hum and where you are just trying to shape the sound a bit, those additional dials will increase the usefulness significantly. Even just in my case, it's been helpful to focus in on the hum and avoid any unnecessary cutoff of played tones, so it's not wasted on me either.
Hope
It works great.i have my gain pedals ran in the loop and it takes all the unwanted hiss out as quick as you like.doesnt cut off your notes and allows for sustain.great pedal.well worth the price

For awhile I had a decimator and NS2 but didn't really like them. Felt they let too much noise through. For even awhile longer I used a Zoom ms60b as my compressor and noise gate and chorus but started leaning towards getting individual pedals instead of a multi effects seeing as my fender bends and ibanez cs9 sound a lot better than the zoom but I needed a noise gate. The Sophgate is excellent and reasonably priced. It can chop noise as quickly or as slowly as you want and has a very powerful threshold that pin points exactly what noise you want gone.

This pedal comes priced at about half the cost of pedals from other brands with similar functionality. The pedal fills such a specific function, that I'm surprised to see an affordable pedal brand bother to manufacture it. The build quality is really nice, and the artwork is light-years better than you would typically expect on a budget pedal. It's a good value if you need it for what it does.
