Donner DTL-100 Tele Guitar Set

This is a well built guitar with well chosen woods. The maple neck is a good full shape and has dark a wood stripe on the back. The fingerboard is a maple cap, always a good stiffening and straightening feature. The pickups are humbuckers but, are tuned to sound like the single coil originals. The neck is aligned perfectly with the strings and not the budget guitar current issue of the 1st or 6th string on the outer edge of the neck. The critical neck angle is as good as it gets. The action and intonation are set well and only needed a small truss rod adjustment after tuning to pitch. The guitar weighs 7lbs. 3oz. and feels sturdy and substantial to hold and play. The old strum the stings open and bend the head stock test showed it to be sturdy and strong. I could not find a dead spot or a buzzing fret anywhere. The f-hole semi acoustic feature is a treat. Not a toy or a joke, this is a real and remarkable guitar for the price. I will put jumbo frets on the neck and this will be a player and a keeper for me. Recommendation? Buy this guitar!

This is more and more becoming my "go to" guitar. Very comfortable to play. Arrived in exceptional condition. Made a few tweaks to string action and that's about it. Plus a gig bag, guitar strap and guitar chord. How can you go wrong?

Each guitar I've gotten from Donner has been better than the last in terms of quality. The frets on this, the guitar I've ever bought have no sharp edges. The factory set up is perfectly usable, and despite someone putting some holes in the box somehow the guitar showed up in mint shape. Donner used the same neck profile that they've used on their other guitars with rosewood fretboards. That results in something that's very comfortable and familiar. The classic C shape 9.5" radius neck is one of the easiest ways to make a really comfortable and playable guitar. The body too is also really comfortable despite having no contours. They combined two classic and comfortable designs here and the result is really nice. The pickups too are a total surprise. They're not as traditional sounding for a single coil but they will still give you plenty of snap and bite at the bridge. What I really love here is that Donner balanced the pickups. So when you use both they blend perfectly giving you the same snap and bite as before but now with a rounded low-end. This also cancels the single coil hum. My guess is that whoever designed the guitar intended for it to be used mainly with both pickups or that's just their preferred tone. Plus you get a gig bag, cable, and strap with it. The value here is just staggering and I'm super impressed.

The Donner DTC-100 TC (or the Standard Series – we’re still not sure what Donner ultimately wants to call the guitar) is a beginner Telecaster-style six-string electric guitar (not semi-hollow). You’ve seen it all over YouTube. But does the guitar measure up to the hype? Straight up – you could do a lot worse. As a former full-time guitar teacher (I still teach the occasional lesson), I’ve had the opportunity to play a ton of beginner electric guitars, and I found that most cheap, off-brand guitars are adequate at best, and unplayable at worst. I also found some on-brand guitars mediocre. The DTC-100 TC, or Donner Telecaster guitar, on the other hand, is simple, sleek, and fun to play. It sounds good too. And as far as I can tell, the guitar has very few downsides. Students and beginners alike can carry this axe around with pride, and without worry that their cheap guitar is holding them back from progressing as a guitarist. This guitar is proof positive that cheap guitars can be good! The rest will mostly come down to personal preference, but let’s dig a little deeper into the cheap guitar’s strengths and weaknesses.

I am primarily an acoustic player, but I wanted to get into some electric. I didn’t want to spend too much money on electric guitar seeing is how it’s not my main instrument. So I started looking at Budget guitars, and this Donner jazz tele style caught my eye. I watched a bunch of YouTube reviews on this guitar, and almost all of them had the same consensus, saying “how is this a $200 guitar? “. After a few weeks of deciding whether I want to get it, I decided to bite the bullet. The guitar was delivered within two days of ordering (was glad to see that it was shipping from Sydney). The box came in good condition taking out of the packaging was in really good condition. Other than that, the quality and craftsmanship seems to be pretty good.
